Methodology
How we choose
One honest answer (which managed WordPress host to pick) without the noise. Here's exactly how we reach a verdict, and the lines we won't cross to get there.
The four axes
Every host is judged on the same four things, weighted by how much they affect a real owner:
- Performance: the architecture (storage, caching, CDN, PHP) and how fast real sites load worldwide.
- Support: whether a knowledgeable human answers quickly when something breaks, and from which plan tier.
- Scale: headroom for traffic spikes and growth before you hit a wall or a painful overage.
- Value: what you get per dollar within the host's band, including intro-vs-renewal traps.
What we verify
Every structural spec on this site (storage, backups, datacenters, support channels) is checked against the provider's own official page, and each review carries the date we last verified it. When a fact gets old, it gets re-checked or removed.
What we refuse to do
- No fake prices. We show each host's entry price exactly as its official page listed it on the date we checked, and link to live pricing, because rates change and intro deals hide renewal jumps. We never invent or estimate a number.
- No fabricated reviews or ratings. No invented star scores, no fake review counts, no “I tested this for 50 hours” theatre. Our editorial scores are clearly our opinion.
- No pay-for-placement. A host cannot buy a better verdict. Rankings are set before any commercial relationship.
How we're funded
Some links on this site are affiliate links: if you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That's what keeps the site free, and it never changes which host we recommend. The full details are on our disclosure page.
